Ruby on Rails Developer at Onehood, Inc in San Francisco, CA

Funded social networking startup seeks experienced Ruby/Rails developer to join our small (but impressive!) team.

You:

  • Want to have a real impact on a consumer-facing, large-scale website from the earliest stages
  • Are Independent and driven. Ability to own and drive forward sizable projects without close supervision
  • Have extensive experience with Ruby on Rails, MySQL/PostgreSQL, test-driven development, agile methodologies
  • Have experience with the infrastructure necessary to scale to millions of users
  • Like to develop for a Unix / Linux platform
  • Have developed real-world, scalable products
  • Have a solid understanding of database management and architecture
  • Ship code
  • Live in the San Francisco Bay Area

Other technologies that would be helpful for you to know:

Git, Linux, HTML/DHTML/CSS/Javascript, AJAX, AWS (S3/EC2/SQS/SDB), REST, message queues (beanstalkd, RabbitMQ, etc), Nginx, Apache + Phusion Passenger, Haproxy

Extra Credit for:

  • Specific interest in local search or social networks
  • OpenSocial/Twitter/Facebook APIs etc.
  • Experience working with data supplied by 3rd party vendors or via APIs
